ACTION CHALLENGE is located on the Hay Point Road via Mackay. Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay are the largest coal-exporting terminals in the world; this facility is just 5 km from the camp.  The camp ground lies in an open area surrounded by tall trees of varying species.  Beside the pioneer style hut area runs a deep stream, which allows for aquatic activities during the warm summer months.

Located around the outskirts of the camp are walking tracks which lead to different localities in the nearby area. Some are used to take participants to ACTION stations, where they will be physically and mentally challenged to conquer a rope or obstacle course, or to take participants to a large dam were rafting activities occur.

The camp buildings are constructed with natural logs and timbers and though quite rustic in style, they work well to create an atmosphere akin to pioneer life in the Australian bush.
